Assigning Users Before Checkout

Before an order can be completed in the Leadership Learning Portal, users must be assigned to each course or live event in the cart. This step ensures that training access is granted to the correct people and that records, certificates, and billing remain accurate.

Assigning users happens inside the cart and is required for Company Admin accounts. Individual users enrolling only themselves will not see assignment options, as the system automatically assigns the training to their own account.

When a Company Admin adds a course or live event to the cart, the item is placed in a pending state. At this point, no one has access to the training yet. The admin must select the Assign option next to each item in the cart before proceeding to checkout. This opens a list of available users under the company account.

From the assignment list, the admin can choose one or more employees, themselves, or a combination of both. Each selected user increases the quantity for that specific item. Assignments are made per item, meaning if there are multiple courses or events in the cart, each one must be assigned individually.

Employees cannot assign themselves and do not see the cart, pricing, or checkout process. All assignments must be completed by a Company Admin to prevent unauthorized access and to keep training records centralized.

Checkout cannot be completed until all items in the cart have at least one user assigned. If an item is left unassigned, the system will block checkout and prompt the admin to complete the assignment step.

Once checkout is finished, the assigned users immediately receive access to their courses or events. The training appears on their dashboard, and notification emails are sent to confirm the assignment. Assignment details are also stored in the order record for future reference.

This assignment process ensures that training, progress tracking, certificates, and billing are always linked to the correct users and company account.
