Changing Account Types

The Leadership Learning Portal allows certain account type changes to support users as their role evolves. Whether you begin as an Individual user and later need to manage training for a team, or you need to simplify your account, the system includes rules to protect training records and prevent data loss.


An Individual account can be upgraded to a Company Admin account at any time. This upgrade unlocks employee management tools, training assignments, order management, and access to employee certificates. No existing course progress or certificates are lost during this upgrade, and the change takes effect immediately once saved.


A Company Admin account can only be changed back to an Individual account if all employees are removed first. This requirement exists to ensure employee training records are not left without an administrator. If employees are still attached to the account, the system will block the downgrade until those users are removed.


To change your account type, sign in and open Profile Settings from your dashboard. In the company or account information section, you will see your current account type and available options. If the change is allowed, you can update the account type and save your changes immediately.


If you do not see the option to change your account type, it usually means one of the required conditions has not been met, such as active employees still assigned to your account. In those cases, review your employee list or contact support for assistance.


Changing account types does not affect completed courses, certificates, or personal learning history. However, company-level records such as employee assignments and certificates are only available while the account is set as a Company Admin.

If you are unsure which account type is best for your situation, it is generally recommended to start as an Individual and upgrade later when company-level management is needed.
