Role-Based Access Limits

The Leadership Learning Portal uses role-based access controls to ensure training, records, and billing information stay accurate and secure. What a user can see or do inside the portal depends entirely on their assigned account role. These limits are intentional and help prevent mistakes, confusion, or unauthorized changes.

Individual users are limited to managing their own learning only. They can browse courses and live events, enroll themselves, complete lessons and quizzes, track their progress, and download their own certificates. They cannot add employees, assign training to others, view company orders, or manage billing information.

Company Admin users have the broadest level of access. In addition to everything an Individual user can do for themselves, Company Admins can add and manage employees, assign courses and live events, complete checkout, view order history, download invoices, track employee progress, and manage employee certificates. These permissions exist so companies can centrally control training and keep official records consistent.

Employee accounts have the most restricted access. Employees can only access the courses and live events that have been assigned to them by a Company Admin. They can complete lessons, watch videos, take quizzes, and view their progress. Employees cannot enroll themselves in additional training, access the cart or checkout, view orders or invoices, assign training, or download certificates. Certificate files are managed exclusively by the Company Admin.

If a feature appears unavailable or missing, it is usually due to role-based restrictions rather than a system error. For example, employees often expect to download certificates or enroll themselves in training, but these actions are intentionally disabled to keep company records centralized.

Understanding role-based access limits helps set clear expectations and reduces confusion when navigating the portal. If access needs change, such as upgrading an Individual account to a Company Admin account, this can be done through Profile Settings as long as required conditions are met.
